The conference aims to accelerate the process of economic integration in South Asia by creating strong cross border capital market linkages and cultivating a favorable environment for cross border listing.
Aimed at promoting investment in South Asian markets - a region which recorded 6.7% average growth between 2000 and 2012 according to World Bank data - the South Asian Investment Conference will serve as a key opportunity for capital market institutions, investment experts, regulators and market leaders to discuss the advantages of cross-border listing, regulatory compliance standards and the role of stock exchange in financing growth activities in an economy.
The event will also focus on challenges to investment promotion and investor confidence particularly in areas of good governance, transparency and regional cooperation. The investment conference itself will become a regular fixture in the SAFE calendar as part of the organization's efforts to collectively represent the value of investment in the region.
The conference is expected to draw delegations from across the SAARC region including a large number of financial and capital market professionals and entities in addition to investors from outside the region.
