The government reduced the prices of 13 consumer items in the interim budget under its 100-day program last month and raids are being carried out to ensure that the public benefits from the reduced prices provided by the government under its 100-day program.The items included wheat flour, bread, chilli powder, corriander, sprats and milk powder.
Fines from Rs 10,000 for small time traders to Rs 100,000 for large companies as well as jail term up to six months will be imposed on those selling these items above the gazetted prices.
