Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has appointed Ronald Perera, PC as Chairman, Bank of Ceylon.
Perera who is the son of the late Paul Perera, PC, former UNP Minister of Justice, Lands, Science and Technology is a LLB Graduate from the University of Colombo and also holds a LLM in International Trade Law from the Northumbria University. Perera was a director of the Bank of Ceylon.
Being a long standing member of the UNP Working Committee, Perera has appeared in a number of cases on behalf of the UNP and its leadership as well as for party members and Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya members who were subject to political victimisation.
