One of the main projects were the pre-school built with modern facilities in Pathana targeting Bogahawatte Rural areas. The pre-school consists of new equipment, class rooms, sanitary facilities, and firstaid facilities. The Addl.Secretary Ms.U.W.R.U.M.Amarasekera also inspected the newly constructed fully completed toilets for the rural community and the learning centre that has been established for the estate children to do their studies.
It was also noted with appreciation the programmes that are being carried out by the Non-Governmental Organizations for the benefit of the estate community such as livestock development, Nutritional, Waste Management and Temporary Housing programmes. The programme was carried out with the contribution of the Coordinating Unit of the Nuwara Eliya District Non-Governmental Organizations.(KH)
