The Ceylon Electricity Board said that the water levels of the Hydropower plants have increased rapidly. As a result the capacity of generating hydro power has reached the maximum level.
According to the CEB, the water levels of the Castlereigh Reservoir has reached 93.3 percent, Maoussakelle 89.6 percent, the Kotmale Reservoir 89.4 percent and Victoria 90.6 percent while the water level at Randenigala has reached 40.5 percent and Samanalawewa 35.2 percent. The average water level of these Reservoirs is 77 percent.
