Accordingly, Ministry has made arrangements to perform this great endeavor of commemorating the National Safety Day 2014 with a focus on Hambantota District under the main theme "Safer Sri Lanka" and the sub theme "Let us unite to eradicate disasters".

It is proposed to conduct the programme to commemorate the National Safety Day this year at the Mahinda Rajapakse International Conference Hall, Hambantota and to conduct a series of programmes in this regard in collaboration with the other ministries and Departments Island wide.

The National Safety Day has been commemorated for eight years continuously since 2006, focusing on Galle, Rathnapura, Kandy, Kurunagala, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Badulla and Kalutara Districts respectively.
