In order to improve the infrastructure facilities at nursing schools in Kandana, Hambantota & .Matara the Ministry of Health has taken steps to implement a renovation project at an approximate cost of Rs. 86 Million.
The main objective of this project is to implement patient care services effectively throughout the hospitals in Sri Lanka, it is essential to provide nursing care services efficiently. Hence 17 Nursing Schools have been established to train Nursing Officers of highest quality. Further, steps are taken to increase the recruitment of trainees to nursing service to overcome the shortage of nurses during this year.
