Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, showery condition is expected to continue further. Cloudy skies are also possible over most part of the island.Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island.Fairly heavy showers about 100 mm may occur at some places particularly in Northern, North-central, North-western, Uva and Central provinces.Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm may occur at some places elsewhere.Misty conditions may occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. WEATHER FORECAST FOR SEA AREAS AROUND THE ISLAND DURING
Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka showery condition is expected to continue further.Showers or thundershowers will occur in the sea areas around the island. Heavy showers or thundershowers can be expected at some places over the sea areas extending from Batticaloa to Colombo via Trincomalee, Kankasanturai and Puttalam.Winds will be North-westerly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph over the sea areas extending from Trincomalee to Hambanthota via Puttalam, Colombo and Galle. Wind speed can increase up to 45 kmph at times in these sea areas.Winds will be Easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be 15-25 kmph in theother sea areas around the island.Temporarily strong gusty winds and rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
