Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, showery condition is expected to enhance from today.Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces and in Matale district.Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 2.00 pm.Fairly heavy showers about 100 mm at can be occur at some places particularly in Northern, North-central and Uva provinces and in Matara and Hambanthota districts.Misty conditions may occur at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.

Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka showery condition is expected to enhance from today.Showers or thundershowers will occur in the sea areas around the island. Heavy showers or thundershowers can be expected at some places.Winds will be North-easterly to North-westerly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph over the sea areas extending from Batticaloa to Galle via Trincomalee, Kankasanturai, Puttalam and Colombo. Wind speed can increase up to 45 kmph at times in these sea areas.Winds will be North-westerly or variable in direction and wind speed will be 15-25 kmph in theother sea areas around the island.
