The keynote address was made by the Chief Guest. The day's sessions saw presentations by Dr Harinda Vidanage on 'Evolution of the world order following the end of the Cold War'and Dr Sithara Fernando, of the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) on 'Strategic aspirations of the major powers and how the Asia pacific turns into a hub of converging and conflicting interests'.
Mr. Asantha Senevirathne of the KDU made his speech on 'Geopolitics, grand strategies and security concerns of small nations in South Asia' followed by Mr. Sanath De Silva from the same institution presented his views on 'Nuclear complexities in South Asia.' The audience was facilitated with interactive question & answer sessions under the guidance of panelists.
Army top brass including the Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana and over sixty senior Army and the Navy officers are attending the sessions.
