A new project has been implemented to provide concessions for the damages caused to the public by climatic changes. UN Development Programme provides necessary financial assistance for this project.
It will be first implemented in Kurunegala, Puttalam and Rathnapura districts and thereafter in Monaragala, Anuradhapura, Hambantota, Kilinochchi, Batticaloa and Mannar Districts. People who will be affected by floods, landslides, drought, gale force winds and many other natural disasters will be benefited by this programme. (ST/KH)
