Fairly strong winds can be expected over the country (particularly in Uva Province and Jaffna, Mannar, Kegalle, Avissawella, Maduruoya and Pottuvil areas) in the next few days, said the Met Department today (16th Aug.).
Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Northern Province.
Fairly heavy falls (about 50 mm) can be expected at some places in the Jaffna District.
Light showers can be expected at a few places in Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Puttalam District.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Trincomalee District after 2.00 p.m.
