A special discussion to commence a program of recycling of garbage in the institutions under the Ministry of Mass Media was held recently at the Parliamentary Complex under the patronage of Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake.
At the meeting, the minister said that this program should be implemented as an example to the other institutions. He also stressed that the people’s attitude on garbage should change.
The program will be implemented with the intention of preventing garbage collection, reuse, and proper disposal to make the office premises environment friendly.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
