Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi opened the newly constructed junior sailors' married quarters at Welisara on Wednesday (14).
The quarters complex located at the naval base SLNS Gemunu in Welisara, was constructed under the guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne. This consists of 32 married quarters, all inclusive of modern facilities, furniture and other utensils.
The able engineering and labour contribution of Sri Lanka Navy’s Civil Engineering officers and sailors were utilized for the completion of the married quarters complex.
