Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne instructed health officials to continue the raid carried out parallel to the Food Safety Week.
Authorities during the Food Safety Week inspected 17,469 shops and eateries, arrested 22,771 soft drink bottles sold without the approved color code, and destroyed 12,428 food items that were not suitable for human consumption while 894 were prosecuted.
On Sunday (28th Aug.) 1,800 PHI officers joined the Food Safety Week and have conducted 47 raids.
