Opening ceremony will be held on 28th August at 10.00 a.m. with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera.

The Mobile Service is launched with the objective of creating awareness on the range of multiple consular services being extended to the public, by the Consular Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry.

Through the Mobile Service, the public would be able to obtain information with regard to the procedures to be followed for a number of consular services such as attestation of documents; repatriation of stranded Sri Lankans; information of Birth, Marriage and Death registration of Sri Lankan expatriates at Sri Lankan Missions overseas; details of salary dues, compensation, legal and insurance dues of Sri Lankan migrants and procedures to dispatch human remains of nationals that have passed away overseas.

Officials from the Department of Immigration and Emigration, and Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau would also be present to provide required information of their services
