The initial work on the Kaarainagar Boat yard was started today morning by Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development in the presence of Women’s Affairs Deputy Minister Wijayakala Maheshwaran and Parliamentarian Angajan Ramanathan.

Once the boat yard is constructed building of boats as well as repairing of boats will be done. It will provide job opportunities as well. Until now as there was no boat yard in Jaffna the fisherman were facing immense difficulties.
