Coastal Erosion has affected Oluvil and Ninthavur areas in the Ampara District.
Minister of City Planning and Water Supply Rauff Hakeem has proposed to the cabinet to appoint a committee to assess the damage and make recommendations on compensation to be granted to the affected people.
The proposal was approved by the cabinet of ministers. People engaged in farming and fishing has been affected.
