Government has not taken a decision to increase the bus fare with the VAT increment.
According to the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva, recent request to increase the bus fare should be a decision of the government and such decision is not yet considered.
He further said, “However, there is no any effect for the Sri Lanka Transport Board with the recent VAT increment.”
