On the same day naval troops attached to SLNS Ranweli recovered four non-electric detonators, two gelignite sticks and four pieces of detonator codes hidden under a coconut tree in the general area of Polmalkuda in Pulmudai.

Further, during a search operation carried out by the naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijayaba in co-ordination with the Kuchchaveli Police on 30th April 2016, were able to recover explosives including 249g of TNT, 30g of black powder, 9 non-electronic detonators, 13 feet long safety fuse and two banned fishing nets (Thangus) concealed in a scrub in Erakkandy Lagoon area. Moreover a suspect along with a fishing net was apprehended on the same day in the general area of Erakkandy. The suspect and the belongings were handed over to the Kuchchaveli Police for onward legal action.
