Government has allocated Rs.8 billion to purchase paddy in the Maha season under the direction of President Maithripala Sirisena.
Minister of Rural Economic Affairs P. Harrison said this while launching paddy purchasing activities in the Anuradhapura District. Minister Harison said that paddy will be purchased at 35 centres in the Anuradhapura District.
He said that eight billion rupees has been provided to purchase paddy. The programme to purchase paddy island wide has now been launched.
