Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka yesterday (17th March) addressing a ceremony in Homagama introduced it as the “city of innovation” in the future Sri Lanka.

“Innovations and science exports have become the latest trend in the world. Reaping the benefits from this trend, the Government with transform Homagama to be the next city of innovation in the Western Province,” said Minister Ranawaka.

In addition, several development projects will be implemented this year in Homagama.  Reconstruction of local road network, building a new shopping complex, initiating a new technical college will be the other plans lined for this town.  

All the future development projects of the country will be carried out in a very transparent way despite of the hindrances, further said the Minister Ranawaka.
