    March 18, 2016

Government has received the cabinet approval to service the generators at the Victoria Power Station.

Technicians have recommended the three generators used at the hydropower station for over 30 years to be immediately serviced and replace any faulty parts in order to obtain their maximum efficiency.

Accordingly, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has proposed to award the tender for replacement of the Stator of the No. 03 generator of the Victoria Power Station to the bidder recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Standing Procurement Committee.

Victoria Power Station is the largest hydroelectric power station in the country and has an installed capacity of 210 MW.
