Distribution of fertilizer subsidy of Rs.25,000 per hectare for farmers will commence from April.
Accordingly, Deputy Minister of Public Enterprise Development Eran Wickramaratne the farmers will not incur a cost for fertilizer.
However, the Minister said that even though fertilizer was given to farmers under the previous regime for Rs.350, the farmers had to pay Rs.500 for this fertilizer.
The Minister disclosed that the farmers can secure their funds from any Bank in the island.
