Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwenaka in Mulankavil arrested three persons along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy and 30 kilograms of illegally harvested sea cucumbers in Nachchikuda on 08th February 2016. The arrested persons along with the items were handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries (Kilinochchi) for onward action.
On the same day, naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijayaba in Nilaweli with the assistance of Kuchchaweli police arrested 4 local fishermen along with 2 hand nets, 3 pairs of diving fins, 2 diving masks, 15 oxygen cylinders and 8 kilograms of illegally harvested sea cucumbers in Erakkandi lagoon. The arrested persons with the items were handed over to Kuchchaweli police for onward action.
