    Sixth Regional Consultative Forum of APFIC begins

    The sixth Regional Consultative Forum of the Asia-Pacific Fisheries Commission (APFIC) commenced yesterday (08) in Colombo under the patronage of the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Mahinda Amaraweera.

    The Forum will be held till February 11.

     

    Regional Consultative Forum of the Asia-Pacific Fisheries Commission (APFIC) is a regional fisheries body established under the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, to promote the comprehensive and proper utilization of aquatic resources in the Asia-Pacific region through the development and management strategies and by improving fishing related processing and marketing activities in conformity with the objectives of its member countries.

     

    The 34th Session of the APFIC will also take place simultaneously from February 12 to 14.

     

    Specialists and investors of the fisheries industry of 21 countries will engage in the session.
