Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) said that these wisdom outlets would be commissioned under the Thousand Nenasala Project, based on a concept of President Mahinda Rajapaksa for taking the benefits of ICT to all.

These centers have Internet, computer training, e-mail, e-Library and various other facilities. Commissioning 11 Nenasala Centres on a single day is so special, the ICTA said adding, that setting 1000 Nenasala Centers by the end of this year was an attainable goal.

Already there are 82 Nenasala Centers in the Wayamba Province and altogether the country has 790 such centers, the ICTA added.
