He made this statement recently participating at a ceremony held in Anamaduwa to felicitate 456 students who passed the 2015 grade 5 scholarship examination in the Puttlam educational zone.
The State Minister further said that a fully pledged vocational training institute will be built in a 15 acre land in Kottukachchiya in order to facilitate the children who have passed the GCE(O/L) exam in the Puttalam District to undergo vocational training according to their talents. This will enable them to procure enviable jobs in better positions.
He also pointed out that there are ample job opportunities for students who have obtained vocational training from institutions like, NIBM, Ocean University, Vocational Training Authority, NAITA and NSBM.
Educational authorities in the District, SEnior Police Officers, parents and teachers of students were present on the occasion.
