The opening was held under the patronage of the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen. The minister of international trade Sujeewa Senasingha, along with businessmen from Turkey, France, Australia and Sri Lanka attended the event.
Bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Sri Lanka reached $311 million in 2014 up by 34% from 2013's total, Bathiudeen said in his speech, underlining that the TCBC will help increase this amount.
TUSKON board member Mecit Özkelebek, meanwhile, invited Sri Lankan businessmen to make investments in Turkey.
Representing seven business federations, the non-governmental TUSKON involves 202 associations and some 50,000 businessmen from all over the country under its roof.
