The Indonesian Navy Sailing Ship KRI BIMA SUCI – 945 departed the island yesterday (18 ), marking the successful completion of her official goodwill visit. The ship was accorded a formal farewell by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo.
Atmospheric conditions will be favorable for afternoon thundershowers in most parts of the island from tomorrow (20th April).

To facilitate an impartial and independent investigation to be conducted by the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the coal import process, the Minister of Energy, Kumara Jayakody and the Secretary to the Ministry, Professor Udayanga Hemapala, tendered their resignations this afternoon (17) to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
