The Sri Lanka Navy, under the patronage of the Ministry of Defence, is proud to host the twelfth edition of the Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference, commencing today (24), at the Wave n' Lake Navy Hall in Welisara. The inaugural ceremony will be graced by the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy falls of above 50 mm are likely at some places.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who left the country to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States today (23) at around 8.50 a.m. American time.
The Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, stated that it is the government’s aim to establish policies in a way that enables every community to carry on their cultural, personal, and political lives without any hindrance.
Sri Lanka’s export sector continued to demonstrate resilience and steady growth during the first eight months of 2025, recording total earnings of US$ 11,554.32 Mn. This reflects a strong 6.61% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2024 stated Export Development Board (EDB).
