The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced a 10-hour water cut scheduled for Friday, August 9, in several areas of the Gampaha District.
The interruption will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is due to essential cleaning and disinfection work on the main transmission pipeline from Nittambuwa to Minuwangoda, which is part of the Gampaha–Attanagalla–Minuwangoda combined water supply system.
As a result, the water supply will be temporarily suspended in the following areas:
Nittambuwa, Kandahena, Mapalagolla, Kongashandiya, Pinnagollawatta, Kolawatta, Gorakadeniya, Ranpokunagama, Ranpokunagama Housing Scheme, Bataliya, Attanagalla, Pasyala, Urapola, Dikkanda, Meewitigammana, Maimbula, Matalana, Haggalle, Alawala, Kalalpitiya, and Ellamulla.
The Water Board has expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused to residents and urges the public to take necessary precautions by storing sufficient water in advance.
