Peace Walk Enters Second Day from Aluvihare

The second day of the  peace walk, carrying a message of global peace, commenced this morning (23) from the Aluvihare Rock Temple.

Led by Venerable Pannakara Thero, the peace walk began yesterday from the Dambulla Rajamaha Viharaya and reached Aluvihare in the afternoon.

Participants are scheduled to arrive at Chandananda College in Kandy today, where they will meet the Mahanayake Theros, Anunayake Theros, and members of the Karaka Sangha Sabha. In the evening, the group will visit and pay homage at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, before spending the night at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya.

The walk will resume on April 24 from the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and conclude that day at the Beligammana Rajamaha Viharaya.

On April 25, the monks will proceed to Kegalle, and continue on April 26 via Kajugama to Yakkala. The following day (27), the route will pass through Mahara before reaching the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya.

The final leg of the peace walk will begin from Kelaniya on April 28 and conclude at Independence Square in Colombo, where a national ceremony will be held under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
