In recent days, several world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have conveyed their sympathy to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake regarding the severe hardships faced by the people of Sri Lanka due to the destructive floods and landslides triggered by Cyclone Ditwah.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also contacted President Anura Kumara Dissanayake by telephone last night (02) to express his deep condolences over the tragic loss of lives and extensive damage to property caused by the disaster.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed profound sorrow over the scale of destruction and assured the unwavering support of the Government of Pakistan for Sri Lanka’s recovery and rebuilding efforts.
