All Divisional Secretaries in Sri Lanka have been summoned to Colombo today (22) to be briefed on the Government’s 2026 development programmes and the “Praja Shakthi” rural development approach.
The discussion is scheduled to take place at the main hall of Temple Trees. During the meeting, Divisional Secretaries are expected to be extensively briefed on the ground-level implementation of the Praja Shakthi programme, which is being carried out as a key government initiative to eradicate rural poverty.
In addition, the discussions are set to cover the need for reforms within the public service, the role of Divisional Secretaries in development activities, an introduction to the digital systems and platforms of the Praja Shakthi programme and the role of Divisional Secretaries within the digital economy programme. The meeting will also focus on securing their active contribution to the national “A Nation United” mission aimed at eliminating bribery, corruption and dangerous drugs.
