Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry assumed duties as the 68th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army recently at Army Headquarters.
The formal ceremony, held at the Chief of Staff’s Office, included the signing of official documents and religious observances to invoke blessings for his new role. The position of Chief of Staff is considered the second most senior appointment in the Sri Lanka Army.
Prior to this appointment, Major General Yahampath served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and currently holds the post of Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
