e International Solar Alliance (ISA) has begun a special mission to Sri Lanka from April 6 to 9, 2026, to support the country’s solar energy development. The visit aims to implement a joint partnership plan and strengthen cooperation in the renewable energy sector.
During the mission, attention will be given to policy improvements, battery storage, and speeding up approval processes. Plans are also underway to set up a Solar Technology Centre at the University of Moratuwa.
Officials say the programme will help expand solar power, attract investment, and reduce Sri Lanka’s dependence on imported fuel.
