Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vijitha Herath, attended as the Chief Guest at the diplomatic reception hosted by the Embassy of Vietnam in Colombo on 19th August 2025.
The event marked the 80th National Day of Vietnam and the 55th Anniversary of Sri Lanka–Vietnam diplomatic relations.
In his remarks, Minister Herath conveyed greetings from President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka and highlighted the strong friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
He noted the steady growth of cooperation across trade, education, agriculture, defence, and cultural exchange, with new opportunities in renewable energy, investment, and tourism.
Minister Herath reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties for mutual benefit and progress.
