“Ehi Passiko” Peace Walk Reaches Sixth Day

The internationally recognized “Ehi Passiko” Peace Walk commenced its sixth day today (27), starting near the Abeysekararamaya in Yakkala.

The peace march is scheduled to proceed to the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara today. Tomorrow (28), a special discussion will be held at the Kelaniya temple with school and university students. Following the discussion, the walk will continue towards Independence Square.

The seven-day peace walk will conclude with a closing ceremony and a parallel cultural exhibition tomorrow (28) at Independence Square in Colombo. The event will be held as a special state function under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

In parallel, the National Design Centre will host a special exhibition on April 28 and 29 at the Gangaramaya Temple, showcasing Sri Lanka’s Buddhist heritage and traditional handicrafts.

The peace walk, led by Vietnamese monk Venerable Pannakara Thero along with a group of monks, began on April 21 from the Dambulla Raja Maha Vihara.
