Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra attended the 20th Anniversary celebration of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Sri Lanka, alongside representatives of France, the European Union, and AFD.
Addressing the event, the Deputy Minister highlighted AFD’s valuable contribution to Sri Lanka since the 2004 tsunami, particularly in sectors such as water and sanitation, urban development, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
He expressed Sri Lanka’s appreciation for the continued support of France, the European Union, and AFD, while reaffirming the country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas including sustainable development, trade, investment, climate action, and digital transformation.
