The inaugural meeting of the Board of Governors of CCF under the patronage of its Chairman, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was held at the Prime Minister's Office on 30th January.
In this discussion, special attention was paid to the future tasks to be carried out by the Central Cultural Fund including the preparation of accounts and conducting prompt auditing, identifying service requirements and filling of the vacancies as per the approved cadre, providing the officials of CCF with training opportunities as per requirements, and providing facilities and infrastructure for local and foreign tourists visiting cultural heritage sites.
Further, taking the developments of the tourism sector into granted they entered into agreement that discussions shall be held with relevant institutions on issues such as providing quality services to tourists and the conservation and development of cultural heritage sites by the Central Cultural Fund.
Minister of Cultural Affairs Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, Deputy Minister Gamagedara Dissanayake, Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthree, Director General of CCF Nilan Cooray and members of the CCF Board of Governors attended the meeting.
