A productive meeting took place yesterday (20) at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Sri Lanka Resident Mission between Mr. Takafumi Kadono, ADB Country Director for Sri Lanka and representatives from the National Initiative for Research and Development Commercialization (NIRDC).
Joining the discussion were two globally respected experts in research and innovation, Professor Lerwen Liu from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Mr. Rajendra Motta, Head of New Initiatives at IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, India.
The primary goal of the meeting was to exchange ideas on how international experiences in the research and development sector could be leveraged to inform national R&D policy formulation and to support the commercialization process driven by NIRDC.
Representing NIRDC were Professor Gomika Udugamasooriya, Senior Advisor to the President on Science and Technology and Founder of NIRDC; Dr. Muditha D. Senarath Yapa, Director General; and Mr. Indunil Gunatilaka, Director of Investments, along with other key officials.
