All arrangements have been finalized for the historic exposition of the sacred Devnimori Relics , which are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka from India tomorrow, February 4th.
The exposition, a significant milestone in the religious and cultural cooperation between Sri Lanka and India, will be held at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo for public veneration until February 11th.
The sacred relics, currently enshrined at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat, will be brought to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) via a special Indian Air Force aircraft. They will be received with Full State Honours by a high-level Sri Lankan government delegation and members of the Maha Sangha.
A delegation from India, led by the Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, and the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Harsh Sanghavi, will accompany the relics to Colombo.
a special coordinating committee recently finalized the logistical and security plans to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. To accommodate the large influx of devotees, the temple premises will remain open 24 hours a day.
This exposition marks the first time the Devnimori Relics have been brought to Sri Lanka. The initiative stems from the vision articulated by the Prime Minister of India during his visit to Sri Lanka in 2025, aimed at fostering deeper people-to-people connections through shared Buddhist heritage.
