1.Sri Lanka National Defence Academy Bill
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development and state the Minister of Defence to draft a bill concerning the establishment of a National Defence Academy.
2.Proposed Agreement between the Democratic Socialist Republic of sri Lanka and the Republic of Check on transferring sentenced persons.
There should be an agreement between Sri Lanka and the respective country to practise the Offenders Act No. 5 of 1995. Accordingly, the cabinet of ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Justice, Human Rights and Legal Reforms to enter in to an agreement with the Republic of Check on the subject of transferring sentenced person between the two countries.
3.Introducing 1000 Certificate /Diploma opportunities on Information Technology under Technical Institutions affiliated to the University of Moratuwa.
The Government has designed a rapid program to provide Certificate/ Diploma / Higher Diploma training opportunities for the students who complete their A/L education. The program aims at local and international job market of Software Production, Internet and Information Technology related employments. It is planned to commence this program with 1000 training opportunities in 2020 and to increase. the number of training opportunities up to 3000 in 2020. Accordingly, the cabinet of ministers granted their policy approval for the proposal presented by the Minister of Higher Education, Technology and Innovations to conduct these training courses based on Technical Institution Diyagama affiliated to the University of Moratuwa and to find the contribution of a committee of experts in public and private sector to design these courses.
4.The 72nd National Day Festival on the 4th of February 2020.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Council and Local Government to appoint a committee of ministers chaired by the prime minister to organize the 72nd National Day Program on the 4th of February 2020. In addition, the cabinet of ministers decided to celebrate the 72nd National Day at Independence Squire Colombo 07.
5.Reestablishment of the Ministry of Agriculture in “Govijana Mandiraya” Building. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development to re-establish the Ministry of Agriculture and other institutions implemented under the ministry, in “Govijana

6.Setting up a task force in the Ministry of Education for the implementation of New
Educational Reform proposals.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Education to establish an Education Task Force comprised of experts in the subject fields, to identify proposed Educational Reforms Programs and Strategies, assist the implementation, provide guidance for the respective institution and to monitor the programs.
7.Implementation of an Interconnected Modern Road Network in Sri Lanka.
In accordance with the National Policy Framework of the Government - “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour”, the renovation of road network has been identified as a key factor. Accordingly, the cabinet of Ministers granted their policy approval for the proposal presented by the Minister of Road and Highways for the implementation of priority projects for the construction of overtaking lanes, surface renewal of the whole road network to meet international standards and to develop an "Optional Road Network" (100,000 km) to reach highways and main roads without difficulty and to improve the rural road network to enter this Optional Road Network.
8.Facilitating small industries of traditional roof tile, brick and pottery with clay supply The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Environment and Wild Life Resources to revise the section 28 and section 30 of Mines and Minerals Act No. 33 of 1992 (amended by the Act No 66 of 2009) to simplify the existing license process for collecting raw materials for small scale clay industries.
9.2020 Food supply Procurement of Tri Force
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation, Rural Development and the State Minister of Defence to award these procurements in accordance with the recommendation of the cabinet appointed standing procurement Committee.
10.Presentation of gazette notification for the fulfilment of legal requirements in line
with the Imports and Exports Control Act No. 01 of 1969, for cabinet approval.
The necessity of encouraging farmer and producer has been identified in National Policy Framework of the Government — “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour”. Accordingly, the cabinet of ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development to present the gazette notification dated 06.12.2019, issued enforcing regulations under Import and Exports Control Act No. 01of 1969, to the parliament.
11.Public participated Rural Development Program 2020 “SAPIRI GAMAK"
The cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, Economy and Policy Development to implement “Sapiri Gamak" rural development program from 1st January 2020. Projects costed Rs. 2,000,000/= will be implemented in each G.N.Division under this program.
12.Setting up a National Policy and Planning Bureau
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E. the president to set up a National Policy and Planning Bureau for the formation of economic policies to accomplish the entire economic goals of the country.
13.Establishment of the Inter Ministry Task Force for the development of Industries and Enterprises.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Industries and Supply Chain Management to establish an Inter Ministry Task Force chaired by H.E. the President for the development of Industries and Enterprises.
14.Analysis of the Compact Development Agreement - Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)
The Cabinet approval has been granted on 29.10.2019 to sign this agreement. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister to appoint a committee comprising following members to conduct studies in depth on this Millennium Challenge Corporation Project and provide their recommendations and to suspend the implementation of cabinet decision made on 29.10.2019 until then.
