    1. Environmental Conservation National Program 2019 (Document No. 08)

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E. the President Maithreepala Sirisena, to continue the proposed Environmental Conservation National Program with the intention of creating a sustainable environment in Sri Lanka.

    1. Compensation for houses destroyed by flood in Kolonnawa region (Document No 10)

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the combined proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and Ranjith Maddumabandara, Minister of Public Administration and Disaster Management to compensate 1,070 assessed house units in Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat area which were affected by  Kelani river over flowing and rain water drainage irregularities in 2016, and not compensated by the National Insurance Trust Fund.

    1. Implementing Integrated Tourism Digital Plan for development of tourism industry and improvement of Global Security Image.

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Hon. John Amaratunga, Minister of Tourism Development, Wild Life and Christian Cultural Affairs to implement proposed Integrated Tourism Digital Plan under Public Private Partnership basis.

     

     

    1. Revisions to Lady Lochore Loan Fund Act (Document No.21)

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon.Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Finance and Mass Media to amend the relevant sections of Lady Lochore Loan Fund  Act, No. 38 of 1951 facilitating to be audited by the Auditor General.

    1. Proposed amendments to the Securities Exchange Bill

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera Minister of Finance and Mass Media to revise the new bill drafted to update present Securities Exchange Act with new amendments.

     

    1. Annulment of the Revival of Underperforming Enterprise or Underutilized Assets Act, No.43 of 2011 (Document No. 23)

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Public Enterprise, Upcountry Heritage and Kandy Development, to present the bill drafted to annul Revival of Underperforming Enterprise or Underutilized Assets Act No.43 of 2011, to the parliament.

    1. Supply of necessary medical equipments to selected hospitals under Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (Document No. 31)

    Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund has agreed to provide funds under concessionary loan scheme to supply new medical equipments for 17 selected Hospitals. Accordingly the Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Dr. Rajitha Senarathne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to implement this project under USD 80 million provided by the fund.

    1. Construction of landslide prevention Steps at roads with landslides high risk (Document No. 41)

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Kabeer Hasheem, Minister of Highways, Road Development and Petroleum Resorces Development to build Landslide Prevention constructions using 2,000 Japanese yen remaining from the allocations for Landslide Disaster Protection Project of the National Road Network.

    1. Revising the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973 (Document No. 51)

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Hareen Fernando, Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports to make necessary amendments to update the Sports Act No.25 of 1973.

    1. Construction of Special Maternity Unit at De Soysa Hospital for Women (Document No. 55) T

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Dr. Rajitha Senarathne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award this contract to Central Engineering consultancy Bureau for Rs. 249.8 million.

    1. Purchasing 400,000 vials of single dose Quadrivalent Human Papilliomavirus Recombinant Vaccine used to prevent Cervical Cancers.

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Dr. Rajitha Senarathne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award this contract to UNICEF for Rs. 1.98 million.

    1. Purchasing Non-Surgical Equipments used in Surgeries.

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Dr. Rajitha Senarathne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award contract to purchase 07 types of non-surgical Items from CIC Holdings for  Rs. 428.8 million.

     

    1. Construction of 33 KW Distribution Pillars and Gantries under Electricity Supply Reliability Improvement Assistance Project.

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the proposal presented by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Power , Energy and Business Development to award this contract to Qingdao Huijintong Power Eqipment Co. Ltd. in China for Rs. 6,781.5 million..

    1. Construction of 33 KW Distribution Lines and Gantries under the Second Component of Green Energy Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Program.

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Hon.  Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Power , Energy and Business Development to award this contract to Ceylex Engineering Pvt. Ltd. for Rs. 2,708.6 million, under the package 4 of the project.

     

    1. Transformation of Colombo Stock Exchange to Limited Stock Company

    Attention has been drawn to transform the Colombo stock exchange which is non- profit organization managed by the members to profit oriented shareholders Company. Accordingly   the cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Finance and Mass media to amend the bill that drafted to change legal status of the Colombo Stock Exchange.

     

    1. Purchasing 100 MW Additional Electric power capacities for 6 months to ensure continuous power supply in the Country.

    The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Proposal presented by Hon.  Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Power , Energy and Business Development to award this contract as follows.

    Award contract of supplying 24 MW to Pallekele Substation and 10 MW to Gall Sub Station at Rs.30.20 per 1 KW to Aggreko International Project Ltd

    Award contract of supplying 10 MW to Mahiyanganaya Grid Sub Station at Rs.30.58 per 1 KW and 8 MW to Polonnaruwa Sub Station at Rs. 30.63 per 1 Kw to Altaaqa Alterrative Solution Global FZE of United Arabic Emirates

    Award Contract of Supplying 24 MW to Hambantota Grid Sub Station  at Rs.28.43 per 1 KW and  24 MW to Horana Grid Sub Station at Rs. 28.70 per 1 KW to V Power Holdings Ltd of Hongkong.

     

    1. LED Street lights Installation Project

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Wajira Abeywardhane Minister of  Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government to award the contract of  efficient LED Street Light Installation Project  to Korean Telecom Company.

    1. Continuous Power Supply

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake , Minister of Minister of Power , Energy and Business Development to appoint a committee chaired by Hon. Prime Minister and comprising the ministers of Finance; Power, Energy and Business Development; Highways and Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development, Ports , Shipping and  Southern Development,

    1. Submission of Garbage Management Recommendations

    The Cabinet of Ministers decided to appoint a committee comprising the Ministers of Internal and Inland Affairs; Megapolis and Western Development and noncabinet Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution to present recommendations on Garbage Management.
