The fifth consecutive Oman Air Golf Classic 2014 was worked off on 4 and 5 October at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Digana, Kandy with Tony Udagedara emerging as the overall winner of the Oman Air Trophy and Vidush Rajendran emerging as the runner-up of the tournament.

The Australian High Commission recently handed over 44 newly built toilets to beneficiaries in resettled villages in Manthai West, Mannar. The High Commission has to-date built 160 toilets in Manthai West for resettled villages in both Tamil and Muslim areas at a total value of Rs 10 million.
