Besides Brasilia, protests are reported in Salvador, Bahia state, in Belem, Pará, in Sao Luis, Maranhao, as well as meetings and rallies are expected in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and other Brazilian state capitals.

Political circles predict that this time will be a smaller number of people in the mass demonstrations than those occurred last Month in main territories of the country.

According to spokesmen for these demonstrations, people take to the streets to express their opposition to the adjustment policy, rising taxes and inflation, as well as to show their dissatisfaction with the corruption scandal in Petrobras.

Protests occur shortly after the publication of a survey of Datafolha, which reveals that the Brazilian president hardly has 13 percent support, after serving three months of her second term.

According to Datafolha, 60 percent of the 2,834 people interviewed in 171 municipalities of Brazil, considered terrible the performance of the head of state.
