In a meeting held in the Palace of the Revolution, both senior representatives stressed they are working to develop the potential of the existing cooperation, reported Prensa Latina News Agency.
The Cuban representative stated that Swire's official visit comes at an opportune time, as the island develops the projection of its economic development for the period 2016-2030, and gives priority to its plans until 2020.
For his part, Hugo Swire, highlighted the opportunities for investment and cooperation existing in Cuba for British businesses.
We intend to foster the growth and strengthening of relations with Cuba in many areas such as trade and to have a greater number of British companies investing in the island, which can contribute to its economic development, Swire said at a press conference.
In that sense, we are preparing for a trade delegation composed of prominent businessmen to come here next year, the minister pointed out.
There are very good investment opportunities in Cuba for British companies, stated the official while taking into account the Cuban context marked by the new Foreign Investment Law designed to attract foreign capital.
