    Commemorative Cover for 60-year Diplomatic Relations between Sri Lanka and China

    A Commemorative Cover was issued on 2nd March at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations and 65th Anniversary of Signing the Trade Agreement of Rubber and Rice between Sri Lanka and China.

    This Commemorative Cover was handed over to Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku , Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China by Ma Xiaoling, Secretary General of  the China National Philatelic Corporation, who is also the designer of this cover. The Embassy staff also present at the occasion.

     

    The Cover indicates two Emblems of Sri Lanka and China and consists of two stamps of both countries. On the back of the cover there is a brief description on bilateral relations between China and Sri Lanka.

     

    60,000 Nos. of Commemorative Covers were issued by the China National Philatelic Corporation and one cover will cost 2.2 RMB (Chinese Local Currency). This will be reached out to the Chinese Public.

     

    The year 2017 is a milestone in Bilateral Relations between Sri Lanka and China due to the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations and 65th Anniversary of Signing the Rubber and Rice Pact.
