Leading 'A' Division Referee and former Trinity Junior Coach Aruna Rankothge has been appointed by the Interim Committee of the Referees Society of the SLRFU to referee the second leg of the 71st Bradby Shield Match between Royal and Trinity at the Royal Sports Complex on May 23.
Rankothge has blown at the Singapore Sevens, the Under 20 World Cup Qualifiers in China (2005). The Junior World Cup qualifiers (Korea, 2008), the Dubai sevens (2009 and 2010) and the Asian five nation top division matches and has successfully coached the Trinity junior rugby teams for several years before he quit as Coach last year.
Rankothge is only behind Dilroy Fernando and Nizam Jamaldeen in terms of refereeing experience, especially at international level.
